Ms. Hen reviews Girl in Pieces

Girl in Pieces

Kathleen Glasgow

Penguin Random House

2016

Ms. Hen found this novel surreptitiously on Instagram, and when she read it she devoured it; she hadn't read anything like it in a long time; this is the kind of book she likes the best, one about a crazy girl dealing with her life in a crazy world; this girl is a cutter, she cuts herself with glass to feel better, and she had been homeless; the writing in this novel is angelic, that's one of the words the character uses; Ms. Hen read this novel so fast, and even though it's February, she knows this will be in her top ten for the year; she has to take a breath for a few days after reading this, it was so good it made her head spin, but in a beneficent way.
